    Product Description

    The RAM-B-224-1U suction cup base consists of a 3.3" diameter RAM Twist-Lock suction cup connected to a RAM-B-238U diamond base with a 1" B size rubber ball. The RAM Twist-Lock suction cup base is a fan favorite for use on vehicle windshields, and provides an extra strong hold on any smooth, nonporous surface. Complete your mount by attaching a B size RAM double socket arm and device holder.

    Proper Suction Cup Installation

    Step 1: Thoroughly Clean Surface

    Using glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth, thoroughly clean the desired area you wish to install the mount.

    Step 2: Push Suction Cup Onto Surface

    Push the suction cup base onto the surface and push against the glass while holding the twist lock to the OFF position. It is crucial you hold the base firmly and flush against the glass to ensure proper suction.

    Step 3: Twist to Lock

    While continuing to hold the suction base flush against the glass, use your thumb and index finger to twist the lock to the ON position. Tug on the base a little to make sure it is suctioned to the surface and not loose

    Step 4: Attach Socket Arm & Holder

    Attach any B size socket arm to the base and your desired device holder to complete your mount installation.

      I have the older product to this and it was good. This one just blows it out of the water as far as sticking power. I put it on a month ago or so and it is still there. The older one has fallen off twice. But they are easily installed.

      As I have purchased several components which are used together, I am reviewing them as a group and repeating the review across all. My time with the product is still very short, I can only provide my initial impressions. RAM products are ASTOUNDING! They do tend to be a bit on the higher end of the spectrum for this type of product; however, the old adage "you get what you pay for" definitely holds in this case. The things I love about this group of products:

      1 - Once the devices are in place and tightened down, they are stable. There is minimal vibration; and, it does not swivel around when putting the phone in the cradle.
      2 - The X configuration of the cradle grip allows for maximum air flow around the phone. My previous phone suffered overheating damage from being in a cradle in the sun for an extended trip. The RAM components not only allow for more air flow but the long arm brings the unit further into the car, just past the rear-view mirror, minimizing the amount of direct sun exposure during the hottest times of the day.
      3 - This is the EASIEST cradle I have owned for getting the phone in and out. I have the LG G3 currently.

      I currently own two sets of this product. One for each vehicle. The LG G3 with a case is a bit of a tight fit in the phone grip cradle. It is not horrible; but, I have to put it in on an angle then straighten it. I have purchased the larger grip version for the second. It is much easier to get the phone in and out. I have not yet seen a down side to the larger vs normal. I will keep you posted......

I got this for a trip that I'm going on in a few days, and can't exchange it in time. Hopefully it won't effect the usability and rust over time. Better quality control would've been nice. Other than the already existing damage, I got this for my GoPro and the grip on this mount is amazing. Once it's locked down, it doesn't move at all. Can't wait to set this up and start shooting. Like I said, just hope this doesn't rust later since I'll be using it with my paddle board

      I'm using it on my motorcycle gas tank, which is not what you'd call flat. I didn't expect it to stay put, but I've had it on about 10 hours of riding and it hasn't budged. I was quite paranoid at first, so I was trying to jiggle it and pull it off every five minutes at first to see if it was coming loose - no can do. I've used a couple of suction cup mounts over the years, and they worked well enough but didn't have anywhere near the feeling of stable and strong connection as this thing.

      I bought it separate from this, but the X-Grip is absolutely amazing too. Again, I was paranoid, but that phone is NOT moving. Period.
