An Unpolished Approach to Podcasting
In this episode, I started off by sharing some technical woes that I have had over the last two days. Learn what the three pieces of audio equipment are that I have had over the years that have needed to be replaced. I think it is worthy to mention that my original Edirol R-09 recorder had recorded well over 2,200 podcast episodes before the 1/8″ line input jack developed a short in it.
Dave called from Australia about an iTunes review that he posted. I explain how you can go in and edit a review that you've previously posted, should you ever want to do so.
Walter called in with some constructive feedback on what I call my “unpolished approach to podcasting.” Of course, I very much value Walter's feedback, especially in the spirit in which it was given. However, I very much like the natural feel of letting my audience experience what I was doing, as I was doing it. I believe that Dave's call, the first call in the show, is perfect to explain that my show is not just about the technical content. There's much more to it than just sharing information in a professional, polished, totally prepared way. Some people like more tightly produced audio. I prefer a more laid back approach. My suggestion to all podcasters is to find that place where you are most comfortable and understand that your content is not going to appeal to everyone.
I share a little bit of what I found while attempting to do my Blog Talk Radio experiment. I explain why I decided to abandon the project before it really got started.
Other topics covered in this show:
* Can I do effective podcasting and new media work with HugesNet Internet Access?
* How can I go about screening calls using TalkShoe?
