Growing up, I had always been taught that New Years Resolutions simply don't work. The idea is that in the new year, a person will resolve to get rid of an undesired habit, to accomplish a personal goal or to commit to something that will improve their life in some way.

As a young guy, I had attempted to set lifestyle goals for myself. However, somewhere around middle school, I became convinced that everyone was right… these things just don't work.

Unfortunately, as a result, I had pretty much given up on “goal setting” all-together. Well, that's not completely true. There were times when I had a strong desire, where I set my mind on a goal that I wanted to achieve and where I remained focused on that goal until I achieved the outcome that I desired. However, these experiences were random and were not a part of any sort of “routine” of goal setting in my normal life. However, that all changed in 2009!

It was in 2009 that I was first introduced the to step-by-step formula for achieving any goal that you remain focused on. In this podcast episode, I share how I immediately put that step-by-step formula to the test and the results that I got from that test.

Since then, I've been HOOKED ON SETTING GOALS and have achieved so many things that, when I look back, I am amazed at what I've been accomplished. In this episode, I share the step-by-step formula that you, also, can use to achieve any goal that you decide to remain focused on.

Note: As the episode progressed, I realized that I wanted to add a fifth step the original four step process. Below is a list list of the revised five step formula for achieving your goals.

Step 1 – Believe it is possible.
Step 2 – Decide to set it as a goal.
Step 3 – Write it down.
Step 4 – Tell others about it.
Step 5 – Work the plan as it becomes available.
